Takarazuka, a city of music | Transcending the time and space of Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods | Creating a city full of vitality and vigor
In order to build a local community, which is unique and full of vigor, in the nationwide movement of decentralization, it is important to take an approach based on a partnership with citizens, business organizations and NPOs. Takarazuka City has established the “Ordinance of Town Development” and the “Ordinance of Citizen's Participations” to promote the town development in collaboration with citizens by making the best out of the citizen's knowledge and creativity.
Takarazuka Festa and Flower and Greenery Festival Festivals such as “Takarazuka Festa” and “Flower and Green Festival”, which showcase four seasons in Takarazuka, are held every year. Various types of performances, given by the citizens, are very popular.
This event was held for the purpose of letting people know the taste of confectioners of Japanese sweets, cakes and bread, who are based in Takarazuka. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the “Delicious City Takarazuka” by visiting each shop for a stamp rally with a guidebook in their hands.
An urban redevelopment project, named “Theater Space Takarazuka” has started with the aim of recovering the popularity in the central urban district of Takarazuka. This project is unique in that the students of Kwansei Gakuin University, Takarazuka University of Art and Design and Koshien University being actively involved in promoting urban redevelopment. The town is undergoing a major transformation through diverse types of events which offer enjoyable experiences such as a footbath facility, an illumination pageant, open cafe's and a flea market. This undertaking was adopted as the “Support Programs for the Contemporary Educational Needs” promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan.
