The Yamamoto district of Takarazuka is known all over Japan as one of the most famous areas of garden tree productions with a tradition dating back over 1000 years. Nurseries are growing garden trees, flowers, bonsais and foliage plants by utilizing their excellent horticulture techniques. Takarazuka City, which considers flowers as the symbol of its urban development, is participating in the “Conference of Information Exchange among Flower Cities”, which aims at creating a city full of vigor and comfort, and continues information exchange.
Aiai Park is an information center of flowers and greeneries in Takarazuka, which contains, among others, a replica of a 17th century Tudor style residencial house, made of oak trees, and a greenhouse, and an English-style garden. The park also has a shop selling plants and gardening material and also a work shop, where gardening advisers are available to answer questions and consult with. Flower exhibitions and on-the-spot sales of rare plants and flowers are very popular.



Grafting will bear many fruits by inlaying high-quality fruit trees and flower plants. Yoriyasu Sakaue, who developed the inovative grafting method in the history of Japanese horticulture, was born in Yamamoto district. Hideyoshi Toyotomi met Yoriyasu and gave him the honorable title of “Kitsugi Dayu (master of grafting)”.

This is an event in which gardening lovers in Takarazuka open their own gardens to the gneral public. Various types of interactions are achieved through gardening, by opening their unique and individual gardens.
